Government Contracting continues to be a tremendous opportunity for many companies but it also continues to become more sophisticated. The bar for entering, achieving a position and protecting that position in this marketplace, rises every day. All too often, companies are not prepared to execute in a way that maximizes their efforts and the likelihood of finding and winning opportunities.
The term OTA has taken federal contracting by storm, more in concept than in practice so far, but it’s garnered the attention of many throughout Government and Industry. It is one of many changes raising the level of anticipation and excitement of what could and possibly will be. The actual impact on many small companies today, however, is minimal at best. Small Business Leaders are wise to be cognizant of OTA and similar developments in federal acquisition but should remain laser-focused on where the bulk of the contract actions, dollars and opportunities still reside.
